Semaglutide

Semaglutide is a medication that can help with weight loss and weight maintenance. Semaglutide works by reducing appetite and slowing gastric emptying, which can help people eat smaller portions and feel full longer.

How Semaglutide Works for Weight Loss

  • GLP-1 Receptor Agonist: Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It mimics the effects of the natural hormone GLP-1, which helps regulate appetite and insulin secretion.

  • Appetite Suppression: Semaglutide acts on the brain's appetite centers, leading to reduced hunger and decreased food intake. This results in weight loss as people consume fewer calories.

  • Increased Satiety: It helps increase the feeling of fullness after eating, which can lead to reduced portion sizes and less frequent eating.

Dosage & Administration

Form: Semaglutide for weight loss is typically administered as a weekly subcutaneous injection.

Dosing: We start our patients off at a lower dose and gradually increase to minimize side effects.

We offer 2 type of Semaglutide Treatment

  • Semaglutide w/ L-Carnitine

L-Carnitine:

  • Function: L-carnitine is a naturally occurring compound that helps transport fatty acids into the mitochondria of cells, where they are burned for energy. It is often marketed as a supplement for fat loss and increased energy.

  • Uses: It’s sometimes used in weight loss supplements and sports nutrition, with claims that it can enhance fat oxidation and improve exercise performance.

Combining these two might be proposed to enhance weight loss results. Semaglutide helps reduce appetite and food intake, while L-carnitine may support fat metabolism and energy levels.

The idea is that semaglutide could reduce calorie intake significantly, while L-carnitine might help with the utilization of stored fat for energy, potentially leading to more efficient fat loss.

  • Semaglutide w/ Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6:

  • Role: Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is a water-soluble vitamin essential for various bodily functions, including protein metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, and red blood cell production.

  • Uses: It supports energy metabolism and can help with mood regulation, nerve function, and overall health. Some also take it to manage symptoms of nausea or support metabolic processes.

Vitamin B6 might help address any nutritional deficiencies or support overall metabolic health while using semaglutide. For instance, individuals on weight loss treatments might benefit from Vitamin B6’s role in energy metabolism.

While not a direct benefit, Vitamin B6 might help mitigate some side effects of semaglutide, such as nausea, although evidence for this is not strong.
